Maybe when Marshall first got here Derail would play the 4, but Marshall is recruiting bigger men for the big positions nowadays. At 6'-7" 180lb, Mr. Green doesn't fit in to Marshall's matured roster at the 4. A three at most.
    So tell HCGM your feelings on using Green. From press release on new recruits, “Derail is a 6-7 combo forward who has remarkable skills shooting and handling the ball,” Marshall said. “As he continues to develop his strength, he will be even more trouble for defenses.

      FVV, CE and DG all show great ball skills in the videos. Unfortunately, not a lot of video on Henry to tell a whole lot. Honestly, DG looks like he can handle himself on the court. Additional muscle will be welcome but I didn't see him getting pushed around. CE may be the first pure scorer we've seen in awhile. FVV is savy and and an obvious winner. Very happy with the quality of player that Gregg is bringing in.

        Fred = 1

        Cleanthony = 3/4

        Derail = 2

        Henry = 5

        On top of that, 3 are freshmen and will lead the shockers for years to come!!

        I thought 2011-2012 was pretty amazing with Marshall filling in the cracks of our team's foundation. With our latest class however, he's starting a new foundation for our success to build upon.
        I agree that DG is a combo forward. We'll see who gets redshirted for sure soon (maybe tomorrow), but I have a feeling that the freshman 2 guard that you speak of may be RB.

          I think CE will come in next year with the best "scorers rep" since Mo Evans. Three years ago Henry or Derail would have been MONSTER gets for this porgram (from a fan hype perspective). We have progressed to the point that they are just "nice additions" that will hopefully help in by the time they are upper-classmen.

            Looking at next year got a lot more interesting tonight (Charleston Southern game night).

            Post - Orukpe/Hall
            PF - Hall/White/Anacreon
            SF - Early (?)/Wessel (?)/Green (?)
            SG - Williams/Baker/Mitchell
            PG - Armstead/Cotton/Van Vleet

            I was a bit concerned about next year being a rebuild, but SF is the only question mark, and Early looks like the guy to put there.

            Orukpe, Hall, and Early looks like a front court you might see in Syracuse instead of in Wichita.

            I'm feeling good about signing Hawkins. He's another possibility at SF.
            The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

              Better change the title of this thread.....curious to see if this class gets any love from those that rate them. I know I love it.............in a manly sort of way.

                Early, VanVleet, Green, Henry and Hawkins is a heck of a class.

                Early = SG, SF, PF
                VanVleet = PG
                Green = SF, PF
                Henry = C
                Hawkins = SF

                Baker = SG

                I think that covers it. And we'll lose

                Stutz = C
                Murry = SG, SF
                Kyles = SG, SF
                Rags = PG
                Smith = SF, SG, PF (kinda)

                I think I'll take it.

                  Would we have been happy with any three of the five????

                  Another positive....I can pronounce all the last names. Won't have to mumble pretending I have the correct pronunciation.

                    Are you really that confident that you can pronounce Uwadiae?

                        Thank you for the vote of confidence, although I have to admit I was looking at "Henry" in your earlier list.

                            I remember a game in 90 or 91 where we so outclassed by Tulsa that it felt unfair and I was sorry for our players. I felt that way against USCharleston Sunday, but in reverse. There are few teams we will not eye test will against this year. Next years team looks very airport ready too. This year's freshmen have shown they can play. If this next class follows a normal distribution of living up to expectations we are in for some good runs. I also don't think our blue jay friends are going backward any time soon. Looking forward to some great match ups.

                              Thats pretty cool to have 3 recruits that have the ability to play small or move it in and play with power. Versatility is the name of the game here.
